Who Are We

Pastor John Evertson

The Lord directly led John Evertson to be the Senior Pastor of West Valley in June of 2000 after graduating from Bible college.

John and his wife Kara have been married for over 15 years and enjoy serving the Lord with their four children. They enjoy sharing the Gospel with the lost, encouraging and equipping God's people and spending family time together.

Pastor Mike Rogers

Pastor Mike Rodgers grew up in the San Fernando Valley, attending Faith Baptist Church of Canoga Park as well as the Christian school there, graduating in 1971. After high school, he earned a three-year Bible diploma.

The Lord touched his heart about entering the pastorate, and in the spring of 1991 Pastor Rodgers and family came to the Faith Baptist Tabernacle in North Highlands.

Dr. Chuck Harding

Dr. Chuck Harding is a missionary evangelist and the founder of Awake America. For eight years he has conducted Christian Heritage and Constitutional Awareness conferences throughout the United States. The Lord has put a burden upon his heart for our country and to help Pastors become more educated concerning our Christian Heritage, engaged in our biblical role in government, and encourage others to entreat God's mercy upon our embattled nation.

Along with over 25 years in the ministry, God gave him the unique opportunity of being the Deputy Commander of the Uniformed Protective Branch for the Diplomatic Security Service at the State Department.  From that experience, he is able to provide effective governmental assistance and advice for pastors and churches.

Brad Cranston

Brad Cranston was born in Sewickley, PA on December 2, 1962. He accepted Christ as his Savior a few weeks before turning six years old.

In June 1985 Bro. Cranston was married to Heidi Marie Christner at Marion Ave. Baptist Church in Washington, IA. Over the years God has blessed them with eight children: Kristina (Scott Mercer), Brad Jr, (Patricia Murray), Suzanna, Kayla, Tiffany, Emily, Jacob and Joanna.

In the Spring of 1992 the Cranstons moved to Burlington, IA where Bro. Cranston assumed the pastorate of a 16 month old church plant meeting in a rented room at the local community college.  In the fall 1992 the church was chartered and organized as Heritage Baptist Church.

In 2008, sensing the moral and spiritual decline of our political process, Bro. Cranston founded Iowa Baptists for Biblical Values.  Over the years that effort has increased to include a weekly presence of Baptist pastors at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines and trusted relationships with numerous good and godly Iowa legislators.

In January of 2015 Pastor Cranston and his wife stepped out by faith and joined Dr. Chuck Harding and Awake America Ministries as the Director of the Awake America State Capitol Initiative with the goal of reproducing his Iowa State Capitol efforts in other states.  To date State Capitol Initiatives have been launched in North Carolina, California, Maryland and Colorado.
